Experts and critics believe that Donald Trump has dementia, and their concerns have only intensified in the last couple of months. His erratic statements on public platforms are the reason why people believe that he is showing symptoms of cognitive decline. And this time, the rumors were fueled as Trump called Putin ‘crazy,’ while Russia reacted by calling Trump’s statements an “emotional overload.” Experts, who have been observing Trump’s behavior for quite some time now, have explained why they are convinced that Trump has dementia

It all started when Trump condemned Russia’s most recent attack on Ukraine, which claimed the life of at least 12 people. On May 25, Russia launched an air attack on Ukrainian cities with nearly 367 drones and missiles. Trump then took to Truth Social, and called Vladimir Putin ‘crazy’.

In his post dated May 26, Trump wrote, “I’ve always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin of Russia, but something has happened to him. He has gone absolutely CRAZY! He is needlessly killing a lot of people, and I’m not just talking about soldiers.”

He added, “I’ve always said that he wants ALL of Ukraine, not just a piece of it, and maybe that’s proving to be right, but if he does, it will lead to the downfall of Russia.”

Further targeting Ukrainian President, he said, “Zelenskyy is doing his Country no favors by talking the way he does. Everything out of his mouth causes problems, I don’t like it, and it better stop.”

Blaming Joe Biden, he said that it’s the war of Zelenskyy, Putin and Biden, and he has nothing to do with it. Showing his intentions to resolve it, he added, “I am only helping to put out the big and ugly fires, that have been started through Gross Incompetence and Hatred.”

Further issuing a warning to Putin, Trump wrote in another post, “What Vladimir Putin doesn’t realize is that if it weren’t for me, lots of really bad things would have already happened to Russia, and I mean REALLY BAD. He’s playing with fire!”

He also added that he’ll consider more sanctions on Russia if Putin continues to attack Ukraine.

Trump’s statements against the Russian President didn’t go unnoticed. Putin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, hinted that Russia is unaffected by Trump’s threats after doing the official formality of thanking him for his concerns.

Peskov told the reporters, “We are really grateful to the Americans and to President Trump personally for their assistance in organizing and launching this negotiation process.” He added, “Of course, at the same time, this is a very crucial moment, which is associated, of course, with the emotional overload of everyone absolutely and with emotional reactions.”

His “emotional overload” label, combined with the reactions of netizens, further fueled the rumors of Donald Trump’s cognitive decline. Critics claim that these outbursts reflect a decline in his mental acuity, with some attributing this perceived deterioration to potential dementia.

An X user wrote, “Trump’s dementia decline is on full display in his posts.”

Someone else wrote, “It’s not Putin who’s gone crazy, but Trump; this is hereditary for all US presidents, a chair and dementia as a gift.”

An X user tweeted, “The level of derangement & demented behavior is off the charts.” A similar tweet criticizing Trump, reads, “America and indeed the whole world should worry about Trump’s mental state.”

Trump’s critics aren’t the only ones who believe that he is suffering from dementia. Several experts have also made similar conclusions based on Trump’s public behavior and statements. Renowned psychotherapist and author, Dr John Gartner, said in a recent interview, “There is absolutely no doubt Trump has dementia. He is losing his capacity for coherent speech and has difficulty even finishing a sentence.”

“He spoke in polished paragraphs; now he has difficulty even finishing a sentence. His thoughts were logical and related: now they’re tangential. He goes off on these ramblings where he is confabulating things,” he further explained.

Dr Gartner also explained that apart from the verbal deterioration, Trump is also showing signs of physical deterioration. “He used to be quite graceful, and now he uses a wide-based gait typical of frontotemporal dementia, sometimes he swings his right leg in a semi-circle. He also has trouble getting up the ramp; he has trouble doing physical things,” he explained.

While reports of Trump having dementia keep on resurfacing, the Trump administration has further added to the mystery by refusing to make the President’s medical records public.
