Donald Trump is a master of his wishes and his mind! Well, why do we say so? Because it’s evident. Recently, the 78-year-old abruptly left a graduation event at the US Military Academy at West Point.
Trump had been invited to address over 1,000 graduating cadets at the prestigious military institution in New York. During his speech, he praised the students for choosing duty over personal gain.
Donald Trump delivered a speech addressing the students, passing out as cadets from the prestigious institution in New York, saying, “Instead of stock options, you chose honor and sacrifice.” He later applauded the students and their strength for choosing the difficult path of being in the military and sacrificing some pleasures of life.

Further into the speech, Donald Trump diverted his focus from patriotism to golf, real estate, and trophy wives! Referring to real estate developer William Levitt, Trump said, “He was one of the first really big home builders, became very rich, and then decided to sell.”

As per the outlet Tyla, Donald Trump exited the stage without following the longstanding tradition of shaking hands with the graduates, a gesture honored by former presidents. His abrupt departure shocked many attendees at the event. The MAGA believer reportedly made the excuse that he had to attend to some urgent matters related to Russia and China.
However, online users slammed Donald Trump for using diplomatic matters as an excuse to attend personal events. One X (formerly Twitter) user posted a video of Trump riding in a golf cart, writing, “Holy st. Trump lied to cadets at West Point, saying he had to leave abruptly and couldn’t shake their hands because he had to deal with China and Russia. The motherf***er went golfing.”

According to Indy100, the president left the ceremony before noon and went to the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey. Sources report that the ardent ‘golf lover’ had planned to spend Memorial Day weekend at the club after arriving there Friday evening. He returned to Washington, D.C., the following day.
Memorial Day, which falls on May 26, 2025, this year, is a federal holiday to honor all the military personnel who served in the U.S. Army and died while serving and protecting the nation. Donald Trump addressed the Gold Star families, veterans, and military officials at the Arlington National Cemetery, where his speech also received online backlash despite a few touching words.

“In addition, we have the World Cup and we have the Olympics,” he said, shifting from a tribute to plans for a grand military parade in Washington, D.C., set for June 14, which also happens to be McDonald’s lover’s birthday. The parade is being organized to mark the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army.

He wrote in all caps, “Happy Memorial Day to all, including the scum that spent the last four years trying to destroy our country through warped radical left minds.” While his message was a dig at the opposition and previous White House members, it was slammed by many.
Commentator Harry Sisson reacted sharply on X, writing, “This is the Memorial Day message Trump decided to post.” There is not a single mention of our fallen troops, veterans, or anyone who has served. “What a total disgrace.” Other users claimed Donald Trump was ‘disgusting and an embarrassment’ to the nation. Finally, what was meant to be a day of reflection became yet another platform for Trump’s political theater.
