Several signs are emerging that Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, may be going through a rough patch in their marriage, especially after their recent trip to India. In what looked like an attempt to shut down the speculation, JD Vance recently shared a photo of Usha from an event they attended together.
But instead of silencing critics, the move backfired and he got trolled.
On April 20, 2025, multiple videos surfaced showing the Vance family boarding a private jet from Italy to India with their three children. Observers quickly pointed out signs of apparent disconnection between the couple. Usha Vance was seen hurrying onto the plane with two of their kids, while JD Vance followed behind with the third.
Just a day later, another video emerged of the couple visiting the Akshardham Temple in New Delhi. Once again, they appeared distant, fueling further speculation.

An apparent disconnection seemed in between the couple who despite walking with their children were not together in general. And the highlight of these trips are JD Vance posted photos of their whole journey with the intention of dispelling the chatter regarding his struggling marriage with Usha Vance.
The Vice President took his took his X handle on May 9, 2025, and posted three snaps of him along with his wife and also the White House for the Military Mothers’ Celebration. Among those pictures was also included a shot. It was intended to look like a candid but was seemingly scripted; the couple holding hands near the President’s office.
Unfortunately for JD Vance, the focus was not solely upon the loving couple but instead the context of the new pope came up, who is Pope Leo XIV, who showed his differences wit the Vice President on immigration issues.

“I love that the new pope hates you! … Two popes in a row couldn’t stand you!” one X user wrote. “The new pope thinks you’re an idiot,” another added. “I’m still laughing about the new Pope telling you that you’re wrong,” someone tweeted.
However this roast was somehow gentle compared to the roasting that he received when the new pope was announced.
Robert Prevost has been named as the new pope on May 8, 2025, and with the announcement of the new pope, X users were soon to point out the problem in between him and JD Vance. People on X went to Pope Leo XIV’s page and came through several tweets that goes against the Trump administration, especially on the immigration issues and also comprised of several tweets having JD Vance in it.
For example, on February 3, 2025, the new pope tweeted an article featured in the National Catholic Reporter titled “JD Vance is wrong: Jesus doesn’t ask us to rank our love for others.”
Pope Leo XIV reposted an article criticizing JD Vance that said “But Jesus never speaks of love as something to be rationed. He speaks of love as abundance — a table where there is enough for everyone.” This is as anti-MAGA as it gets! pic.twitter.com/wsuLrFrD1s

In the same month only, Pope Leo XIV posted an article from America Magazine that featured then-pope, Pope Francis, speaking of the immigration policies of Vance. These older tweets are now going viral and people didn’t waste a single bit of time hitting on the Vice President. “Get his a**, Holy Father,” one user replied to the pope’s “JD Vance is wrong” tweet. “That’s right, f*** JD Vance,” another added.
