Ana Bárbara Buhr Buldrini was a 31-year-old Brazilian-Mozambican influencer. She tragically died after undergoing a set of cosmetic surgeries at Tusa Hospital in Istanbul.
However, there is a tragic twist to the incident. It has been reported that Ana spent the night before her surgery partying with the same doctor who was supposed to operate on her the next day. During the party, both were seen socializing and drinking. This behavior had raised serious concerns about the professional ethics of the doctor. It also makes one question if the doctor was in the best shape and mind to operate the next day.
This incident has sparked widespread outrage. Ana’s surgery at that particular hospital was not random but part of her promotional agreement. In exchange for her surgery, Ana would have showcased her transformation online. The whole surgical process was to be documented as a dream makeover. However, it turned into a drastic tragedy.
Buldrini had signed on for breast augmentation, liposuction, and rhinoplasty at the clinic. It was planned that she would use her influence to promote the clinic on her social media in exchange for the discounted or free treatment.

Ana’s husband Elgar Miles has now released a statement. He claims that the couple had asked to delay the surgery for better preparation. He claims that Ana had not completed the required fasting period that shows the couple was not keen to start the procedure. However, they were reportedly pressured by the clinic to move ahead with the operation earlier than planned.
Though he has not given any reason as to why the couple was seen partying with the doctor a night prior. There couldn’t have been any pressure from doctors to throw such a party.
Miles has also said that after the surgery, he became alarmed. His doubts came upon seeing the behavior of the hospital staff. The information regarding Ana’s condition that the hospital shared was inconsistent. They first told him that her heart rate was dropping, and within minutes, they told him that she had died.
The abrupt and contradictory responses from the staff raised serious red flags. He said he was sure that there was mishandling during her post-operative care.
Tusa Hospital has also issued a public statement asserting that Ana was fully informed of the risks and the dangers, and she had given her consent for the procedures. The hospital described her death as the result of an “unexpected complication” during recovery. They have claimed that their medical team made every effort to revive her after she suffered cardiac arrest.
The hospital has also made a controversial statement. They have claimed that Ana had been admitted for dental work, not cosmetic surgery, as per a report. It was seemingly to deflect scrutiny and liability. This contradiction has now added on to the growing controversy and public backlash surrounding the incident.

Elgar Miles is now demanding accountability. He is devastated by the loss of his wife and has taken to social media to express his grief and anger.
Miles described the pain of losing her and vowed to seek justice. “The guilty of this will pay,” he wrote, pledging that he will not rest until those responsible are held accountable.
There have been questions about the clinic’s integrity and ethics when it was made public that several procedures were compounded into one session. Especially when the doctor and patient both were seen partying a night prior.
Ana’s story is a painful reminder of the risks associated with cosmetic medical tourism. It is especially true when promotional incentives blur the lines between care and commerce. As investigations continue, her death highlights the need for stronger safeguards, ethical practices, and informed decision-making in the global cosmetic surgery industry.
