Legal troubles for Hip Hop Mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs are mounting at a dangerous speed. This includes a federal investigation involving alleged sex trafficking and racketeering. Among these issues, a controversial claim has been presented by former Death Row Records CEO Marion “Suge” Knight. Knight claims that if Diddy gets convicted, he might receive a presidential pardon. And that pardon will not come from any president, but from President Donald Trump himself.
Knight is currently serving a 28-year prison sentence for voluntary manslaughter. He was recently interviewed by NewsNation’s CUOMO on the phone. Speaking from prison, Knight talked about Diddy’s ongoing legal situation.
He expressed confidence that the Bad Boy Records founder will be able to avoid serious consequences. It would be because of his intelligence and his possible influential ties. “I still feel that Puffy’s going to be all right and have a fair shot at it,” Knight said. “Puffy didn’t—he’s not a dummy.”
He further speculated that President Trump could step in to pardon Diddy. His source of confidence? Trump’s past clemency decisions. Knight specifically pointed to the 2021 pardon of Michael “Harry-O” Harris, co-founder of Death Row Records. Michael Harris had spent over three decades in prison.
Harris’s pardon was lobbied for by influential figures like Snoop Dogg and criminal justice reform advocate Alice Johnson. It showed that Trump was not above using his presidential power to grant mercy to high-profile names in the entertainment world.
Former record executive Suge Knight claims Diddy has enough power and influence to manipulate the jury and possibly walk free.
He says the prosecution has done little so far to truly challenge Diddy.

Trump’s latest behaviour of accepting large gifts could also be an issue for Diddy and his lawyers. He could essentially buy his pardon with extravagant gifts.
However, Knight’s speculation doesn’t stem from any official sources. Neither President Trump nor anyone from his administration has made any public statement about Diddy or his legal troubles. Yet the president’s unpredictable use of the pardon power has made such a scenario possible in the eyes of some observers. Trump has a special adoration towards people “on tv”.

Diddy’s legal situation has escalated quickly. There are several lawsuits that have been filed against him alleging sexual abuse, trafficking, and coercion. In March 2024, federal agents raided his homes in Los Angeles and Miami, adding fuel to the public speculation.
Diddy has, of course, denied all allegations, and the trial has finally begun. Apart from that extremely explosive comment, Suge Knight also hinted at the possibility of jury influence in the courtroom. He suggested that someone could “talk to the jurors.”

Knight did not have any evidence to support his claim of jury tampering. Yet this comment shows what rich and influential people think of our judicial system. The suggestion of a pardon from President Donald Trump adds a new dimension to the Diddy saga. It connects the world of celebrity, criminal justice, and politics.
Whether or not Trump would ever consider such a move remains to be seen, but Knight’s comments have added a new layer of intrigue to a case already full of twists. For now, both Diddy’s legal team and Trump’s political machine remain silent on the possibility. But in today’s world, nothing can be entirely ruled out.
