Is Donald Trump‘s life in danger? An undocumented immigrant has been arrested for allegedly threatening to assassinate President Donald Trump in a letter sent to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), according to federal authorities—the suspect, identified as a 54-year-old Mexican national, Ramon Morales Reyes.
In the letter that Reyes wrote on May 21, he said that he planned to shoot Trump in the head at one of his rallies and then “self-deport” to Mexico. The handwritten letter read, “We are tired of this President messing with us Mexicans. We have done more for this country than you white people.”

As per The Irish Star, Ramon Morales Reyes also expressed his outrage over Donald Trump’s erratic deportation policies, which have been relentlessly carried out since he returned to power in January 2025. According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Reyes is currently being held in ICE custody at a facility in Wisconsin, awaiting removal proceedings.
The scary letter also read, “I will self-deport myself back to Mexico. But not before I use my 30-yard 6 to shoot your precious President in the head.” Soon after the threats, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem condemned them and urged strict actions to be taken against these people.
“Thanks to our ICE officers, this illegal alien who threatened to assassinate President Trump is behind bars,” Noem stated. “This threat comes not even a year after President Trump was shot in Butler, Pennsylvania, and less than two weeks after former FBI Director Comey called for the President’s assassination. I will continue to take all necessary measures to ensure President Trump’s safety.”

The DHS team also reported that Ramon Morales Reyes has a long record of criminal history and tried to enter the United States of America at least nine times between 1998 and 2005. His records include charges of felony due to hit and run, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct with a domestic abuse modifier.
Donald Trump’s immigration policy, which he issued in January, included removing unlawful migrants from the US. Under the new policy, deportation can now occur anywhere in the country. It will target and apply to undocumented migrants who can’t prove that they have been in the country for more than two years.
Since America has been a land of immigrants, especially a lot of Mexicans, many of whom have settled here over the years, the policy was slammed by several people. While radical Donald Trump supporters strongly supported the idea, many claimed that the administration was being ruthless to students and families in the process.
For instance, Sofia, the young daughter of Deysi Vargas, had undergone life-saving treatment in the US. She came to the country on temporary humanitarian grounds in 2023. But her family said they have been asked to leave the country. In another case, an immigrant named Kilmar Amrado Abrego-Garcia, who was claimed to be a part of the MS-13 gang, was wrongfully deported by the Trump administration.
Despite the backlash, Donald Trump and his team are adamant about keeping the crackdown going. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem visited the arrested members at the notorious hellish El Salvador mega prison back in March 2025 with armed security to witness the illegal immigrants and criminals who had been deported from the US as part of the infamous immigration policy.
Fifteen thousand prisoners, including 250 suspected Tren de Aragua and MS-13 gang members, have been locked up in the cells. These inmates follow a strict daily routine, and some of them will never be able to lead normal lives owing to their brutal sentences.

President Trump and I have a clear message to criminal illegal aliens: LEAVE NOW.
If you do not leave, we will hunt you down, arrest you, and you could end up in this El Salvadorian prison. pic.twitter.com/OItDqNsFxM

Addressing violent criminals who have plans to flee to the United States, Noem said, “We are in several other countries around the world with a message right now that’s saying if you are thinking of coming to America illegally, don’t do it. You are not welcome.”
This visit was a part of Kristi’s three-day Latin America tour to discuss the increasing organised crime flowing to the United States of America.
