Karoline Leavitt established her name in the Trump administration and history on January 28, 2025. Leavitt became the youngest Press Secretary the white house has ever had. Months after her appointment, speculation about her finances hasn’t died down.
Karoline graduated from Saint Anselm College with a degree in communications and politics. During her time at the institution, Leavitt started a broadcasting club that did not exist before. She went on to work as the assistant Press Secretary under Kayleigh McEnany, who worked for the first Trump administration.
The website Celebrity Net Worth estimates Karoline’s salary to be around $180,000. Her salary in 2021 was estimated to be $70,000. The 27-year-old’s finances seem to have taken quite a hike ever since 2021.
During Karoline’s 2022 congressional run, her financial disclosure revealed that she had barely any assets to her name. Leavitt’s finances made sense given that she was a new graduate with only a few years of professional experience to her name.
The 27-year-old’s 2022 candidate filings stated that she had no real estate holdings or unearned income. The Press Secretary’s current financial status, though, has left people surprised and in shock.
Leavitt is eligible to receive standard federal benefits, which include retirement contributions and comprehensive health insurance. The 27-year-old also earns a significant amount of money through her White House salary.

Karoline’s finances have raised eyebrows in the past and even led to ethical concerns. In 2022, during her congressional run, Leavitt was the subject of the Federal Election Commission’s scrutiny for violating campaign rules.
The now Press Secretary reportedly concealed around $300,000 in campaign debts. $200,000 was made up of alleged illegal donations from donors and supporters. A significant amount of money came from illegal donations that exceeded the legal limits set for campaign donations.
A significant amount of Leavitt’s newfound fortune comes from her marriage to Nicholas Riccio. The real estate mogul has a net worth of $6 million. Riccio and Leavitt got married in 2024, providing even more financial stability to support the 27-year-old’s political career.

Karoline hasn’t shied away from noting just how major a role her husband has played in supporting her in her career. “He’s built a very successful business himself,” the 27-year-old noted while in conversation with Megyn Kelly.
“Now he’s fully supportive of me building my success in my career,” she shared with the Fox News host. Karoline and Nicholas are also proud parents to their son Niko. The Press Secretary also has a 32-year age gap with her husband.
