The Press Secretary of the White House, Karoline Leavitt, who is 27, has made it to the headlines several times, especially for the age gap with her husband, who is a whopping 32 years older than her. They got married in January 2025, and soon, within six months they welcomed their son Nico.
The age gap between the couple raised eyebrows, especially concerning the situation of how the wedding took place, with Leavitt having a baby out of wedlock.
A critic stated on Facebook, “Karoline Leavitt — pregnant before marriage, engaged in December 2023, had a baby in July 2024, and married a rich man 30+ years older than her. Constantly lectures the country about Christian values and the dangers of immorality.”
The interesting thing about their marriage is that it wasn’t only the public that had some reservations concerning their age gap, Leavitt and Riccio.
On “The Megyn Kelly Show,” Leavitt was asked if she was a bit hesitant to date him at first. “Of course,” Leavitt said. “It’s a very atypical love story. But he’s incredible. He is my greatest supporter, he’s my best friend, he’s my rock.”
She further said that because Riccio has already achieved several of his goals and, he provides full support to her. Though she fairly didn’t put light on what exactly made her think twice about dating him, experts have figured out an idea of her mentality, being that age is just a number.
Anthony Recenello, a dating expert and also the host of Paramount+’s “Love Allways,” told sources, “Karoline’s incredibly composed in her public role. She’s well-spoken, steady, and always knows how to answer a question without skipping a beat.”
“That tells me she’s got a high level of emotional intelligence and self-awareness, which goes a long way in making something like this work. “A relationship like theirs doesn’t function unless both people are bringing that kind of clarity and maturity to the table.”

The age gap of the couple has always been a hot topic among people, especially since Leavitt became the press secretary of the White House.
However, Anthony Recenello, a dating expert, has reflected on the fact that there’s primarily no proof that being far apart reduces love between couples. Everything will be sorted if the couples communicate properly. “The age difference can highlight mismatches faster, but it doesn’t cause them,” Recenello clarified.
Both Karoline Leavitt and her husband Nicholas Riccio are successful personalities in their respective field, which can eventually bring them their respective career challenges.
As Recenello explained, “That dynamic could be tough for some couples, but if they’ve embraced each other’s worlds instead of trying to mold the other into something else, that’s a good sign.”
