When Democrats decide to switch parties and become Republicans, or, say vote for Republicans, no one expects the media or audience to keep describing them with words like ‘Democrat’ or ‘liberal.’ However, somehow, after ex-Republicans and former conservatives campaigned for staunch leftist Kamala Harris for the position of President, journalists kept calling them ‘conservatives.’
Bill Barrow, who is a part of the allegedly ‘fact-based’ Associated Press, recently wrote in an article titled, “Conservatives who still oppose Donald Trump gather at ‘Principles First Summit’ in search of a path forward.” The first sentence of his article read: “Conservatives from across the country filled a ballroom a few blocks from the White House and lamented that the United States is abandoning the ideals that forged a great nation.”
You can’t vote for Trump if you believe in the Constitution.
Voting for Kamala makes you a patriot, not a Democrat.

Thereafter, the AP scribe turned up to Heath Mayo, an ex-Republican, “the Yale-educated attorney who founded Principles First five years ago for self-identified politically homeless conservatives.” The “PBS News Hour” website published the repetitive falsehood, and the progressive partners at PolitiFact won’t object to it.
One can be a principled conservative, be a strict critic of President Donald Trump, and at the same time refuse to vote for him. But it is much more common among the elites to criticize Trump so much. Seeing the Liberal TV bashing Donald Trump as a menace to society is not surprising at all.
Hence, Mayo and many of his fellow “Principles First” individuals campaigned for Kamala Harris the previous year. The ad campaign for their ‘summit’ was filled with ex-conservatives starring on cable news: MSNBC regulars Charlie Sykes and George Conway, MSNBC host Michael Steele, pollster Sarah Longwell, and CNN analyst Adam Kinzinger, among others. Longwell was seen sitting on stage with Kamala Harris and Liz Cheney at campaign events during the fall.
Honestly, one cannot be a ‘conservative’ and support a woman who would make abortion as available as possible and even push “gender-affirming care” for children. One cannot be ‘conservative’ and support a team that made a withdrawal from Afghanistan and whose weakness led to disastrous wars in Israel and Ukraine.
However, for Democrat journalists, it is just too good to be true; MSNBC, CNN and PBS and NPR cannot get enough of “Republicans” who support Democrats. Heath Mayo tweeted last year, “If Dick Cheney is voting for Kamala Harris, it’s safe to say this election is not any kind of referendum on conservatism.”
Just a year ago, Michel Martin, the National Public Radio “Morning Edition” host actively interviewed Mayo about his conference and led him to trash about the Conservative Political Action Conference. Mayo claimed it has “evolved into this sort of corrupt and crazy circus that was much more focused, I think, on the personalities that were on the stage and the crazy and crazier things that they would say, as opposed to the ideas and the principles that really should define who we are as conservatives.”
The leftist media love to talk about “conservatives” who trash President Trump.
Newsflash: If you voted for Kamala Harris, you’re no longer a “conservative.”

Martin then enquired last year about the presidential candidate he was supporting. “Trump poses an existential threat not only to the Republican Party but also to the fundamental values that guide our nation,” Mayo stated. Therefore, I would vote for [Joe] Biden.
Michel Martin put an end to the interview saying, “That is Heath Mayo. He is president and founder of Principles First. That’s the conservative group hosting an alternative to the CPAC conference.”
These liberal journalists are not just pretending that Real Republicans oppose Donald Trump. They are hinting that they want Real Republicans who give in to everything Democrats want to do. They want to create a “uni-party” media elite and a “uni-party” government.
