A few days ago it was Barack Obama and Michelle making headlines for their rumored divorce. People kept speculating even after the Former First Lady made it all clear. Unfortunately, internet loves to invite theories. The recent victim of such wild speculations? The second couple JD Vance and Usha Vance.
Some of their recent gestures have hinted at trouble and netizens won’t sit quiet. Mother’s Day was supposed to be a warm family moment, but instead, it ended up casting a cold spotlight on JD and Usha Vance’s reportedly rocky marriage. And, Usha’s comments may have made things even worse.

In an interview with Fox News, Usha opened up about the realities of being a mother of three while balancing life with the Vice President. “While I certainly miss working, I am grateful that I have the time to ensure that our home life is as normal and stable as possible,” she said.
Usha famously stepped away from her legal career at Munger, Tolles & Olson back in July 2024 to support her husband’s vice presidential campaign. But her comment about missing work, combined with the tone of her remarks, gave the impression that JD might not be pulling his weight at home.
When asked how the family was celebrating Mother’s Day, she responded, “I shared an early Mother’s Day celebration with military mothers at the White House.” Then she added that JD was “making dessert with the kids”, and that appeared to be the extent of his effort.
JD’s own Mother’s Day post on X didn’t help matters either. “Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there. We love you and are grateful for you!” he wrote, without even mentioning Usha by name or saying how lucky he and the kids are to have the SLOTUS by their side.
Meanwhile, she marked the occasion by posting photos from the family’s trip to the Amber Fort in Jaipur, plus pictures of handmade gifts from the children. Again, there was no mention of any present from JD.
To counter the already buzzing speculation, JD shared a set of photos on May 9 from the Military Mothers’ Celebration at the White House. One photo showed him and Usha holding hands outside, presumably trying to show a united front. But critics online weren’t convinced. The moment felt more scripted than candid. Other snaps showed the couple sitting side-by-side during speeches, with JD behaving himself, something that hasn’t always been the case.

While there were comments like, “Nobody likes you” beneath the post, remarks such as, “Such a lovely couple” weren’t far either!
It wasn’t long ago, in March, that JD made headlines for an awkward moment during a speech in Michigan. While addressing a crowd with Usha standing just behind him, he said, “Here’s the thing. The cameras are all on; anything I say, no matter how crazy, she has to smile, laugh, and celebrate it.”
The comment didn’t sit well with viewers. A video clip went viral on X, with one user saying, “Despite the smile all I see is a resigned sadness in her eyes.” Another bluntly warned, “Usha! You in danger, girl!” Some people even warned her to get out of the marriage.
Others criticized how far she’s come, only to be reduced to what one person called a “decorative cheerleader.”
Few days ago, the Vance family paid a visit to India. Since then, their body language looked off and kickstarted the rumors.
