In an unexpected turn of events, Antoine Massey, 32, who claimed to have been “let out” during the New Orleans Jailbreak, asked Donald Trump to help him. Last month, the toilet-hole jail escape made tabloid headlines, and Massey was one of the inmates who managed to get out. However, he claims, “I didn’t break out; I was let out.”

Last week, he allegedly posted a video on Instagram, explaining his situation, while also asking for Donald Trump and Lil Wayne’s help. According to the U.S. Marshals Service, which is in charge of the ongoing official investigation, Massey said, “They say that I broke out. I didn’t break out. I was let out.”

As reported by NOLA.com, he also mentioned his name while adding, “The reason why I left the jail is because these people were trying to give me a life sentence in both parishes for something that I did not do.”

In the video, he allegedly pleaded, “I am asking, please, for help.” The escaped inmate added, “I’m saying people that been through the system that know it’s corrupt. Lil Wayne, Donald Trump, please, I’m asking for help. You know what I’m saying?”

Antoine allegedly claimed that he was wrongfully accused of domestic violence by a woman he knows. Additionally, he also claimed that the motor vehicle theft charge against him was incorrect. However, his criminal record says otherwise. According to NOLA, it dates back to at least 2009, including violent felony convictions for aggravated flight from an officer, armed robbery, and firearm possession.

As per the records available, he has also faced charges of theft, property damage, tampering with electric monitoring equipment in the past.
While serving his sentence, he managed to escape from the Orleans Justice Center, along with some other inmates. According to the Law&Crime, they carved a hole out behind a toilet and then crawled through it. So far, eight out of the ten inmates have been arrested. A search for Massey was carried out at a residence on Monday, 1700 Block of Agriculture Street.

However, authorities notified that he couldn’t be found. Apart from him, Derrick Groves, 27, who was convicted of double homicide and was sent to prison last October, remains a fugitive.

After a relative of Massey watched his purported video on Instagram, they recognized him and informed the authorities.

Meanwhile, Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office took “full responsibility” and “accountability” of the incident. As a response to the jailbreak, Sheriff Susan Hutson even halted her reelection campaign. Multiple staff members have since been fired while an internal probe has also been launched to find out what exactly happened.
