The world is shocked to witness Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s fallout, to say the least. Just a few days ago, the Tesla owner was the “first buddy” of the Republican President. However, now, Musk has taken a U-turn after Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” seemingly forgot to add something to his benefits. Now, experts predict that Jeff Bezos might emerge as the ultimate winner out of this feud.

In response to the U.S. President’s move, Elon Musk threatened that he would decommission his Dragon spacecraft. It is a crucial component of NASA’s astronaut transportation to the International Space Station (ISS). It is to be noted that later, the SpaceX owner retracted his threat, however, it has still sparked concerns amongst the government officials, as reported by The Washington Post.

Following the public feud, NASA and Pentagon officials are now turning towards competitors of Musk’s SpaceX, including Rocket Lab, Stoke Space, and Jeff Bezos‘ Blue Origin. Government officials are now urging these commercial space companies to expedite their development of rockets and spacecraft that could be used as alternatives to the Dragon spacecraft.

Elon Musk’s SpaceX is a major recipient of government contracts. However, his relationship with Trump deteriorated after the White House made a risky move of withdrawing Jared Isaacman, an ally of the Tesla owner from NASA administrator nomination. Prior to that, SpaceX had been responsible for launching Pentagon satellites, transporting cargo and astronauts to ISS, and of course working on new intelligence and agency satellites.

In light of the recent tension, Blue Origin now has a chance to take its space. Bezos’ organization is already a crucial part of the space industry. Just recently, it has unveiled a new vehicle for lunar and Martian missions, further proving why it is a direct competitor to SpaceX.

As part of his space exploration efforts, Amazon’s founder has also entered the satellite market. Recently, Blue Origin launched its first operational satellites as part of Project Kuiper, a contemporary to Musk’s Starlink.

This means that Bezos has a real opportunity to better his game in the space industry now. It is to be noted that he didn’t exactly start off on the right foot with Donald Trump during the President’s first term. The POTUS often criticized The Washington Post at that time, a tabloid owned by Jeff Bezos. However, recently, in March, he surprisingly praised him, saying, “He’s trying to do a real job” by bringing some changes to the tabloid.

As their relationship approves, apart from the dominating the space industry, Bezos’ Amazon could also enjoy the outcome. The businessman has already made few moves to improve his relationship with Trump, including reportedly signing a $40 million documentary contract with the First Lady, Melania. He has also met with Trump at Mar-a-lago last year and even donated a whopping $1 million to his inauguration.
