In response to Donald Trump’s super hyped military parade, “No Kings” march was organised by protesters all over the country. These marches were a great example of peaceful protest where people came together and presented their views and also enjoyed every bit of it.
One such peaceful protest turned violent on Sunday. In Downtown Los Angeles during one of the marches, a chaotic scene changed the whole atmosphere.
A dramatic video captured the shocking moment when a frustrated driver accelerated through a crowd and struck a female protester in the process. The video has now gone viral and is circulating widely on social media. The protester was standing directly in front of the burgundy sedan with her hands on the hood when the driver accelerated and hit her. He then sped off after running her over.
The vehicle had a green light to move on, but the act of charging into a protester has drawn a lot of criticism. It has also reignited debates about protest safety and driver accountability.

Witnesses at the scene said there were tensions and chaos that had been building throughout the day. But this act of violence brought an abrupt and frightening turn to the demonstration.
The Los Angeles Police Department has now classified the incident as a hit-and-run. By the time police could intervene, the driver and a passenger had already fled the scene. It sparked a rapid response from law enforcement. A police helicopter was dispatched to search the area, too. Authorities have been reviewing footage from surveillance cameras and bystanders’ smartphones to identify the suspect and their vehicle.
The LAPD is also compiling eyewitness statements. Police have also urged anyone who may have any information related to the incident or the footage, to contact the authorities. However, no arrests have been made so far, but officials emphasize that the case remains open and active, as per The New York Post.

The victim is a woman believed to be in her early 20s. She sustained injuries to her lower leg and was treated at the scene by emergency responders. She was then transported to the nearby hospital.
According to fire department officials, she is currently in stable condition and undergoing further evaluation. Fortunately, her injuries were not life-threatening. But the emotional and physical trauma of the encounter shows how law and order have been crumbling in the streets of America.
Sunday’s “No Kings” rally was part of a broader national wave of protests. Many of these were targeting President Donald Trump and included additional protests against ongoing ICE immigration raids.

The air around the protests had already become tense, even earlier in the day itself. Clashes with law enforcement led to the declaration of an unlawful assembly after demonstrators began throwing rocks and launching fireworks at officers. Police responded with tear gas and mounted units to disperse the crowds. The vehicle incident occurred amid this already escalating situation, further heightening the intensity of the event.
The act has sparked outrage among citizens. There have been calls for better protections for peaceful demonstrators. Community leaders are demanding accountability, while protest organizers continue to stress the need for non-violent resistance and public safety in future gatherings.
