A 70-year-old Florida man is accused of urinating on food at a Sam’s Club store. He is accused of destroying over ten thousand worth of food by contaminating it with his urine. Patrick Francis Mitchell was charged with criminal mischief and was arrested on June 4th. He is also charged with disorderly conduct in public and causing thousands of dollars in damages to the store.
On May 13, the man was at the Sam’s Club and urinated on an aisle in Lady Lake as mentioned in the country public records. Another customer who was present at the store recorded him and showed the proof to the employees of the store. There is also CCTV footage that has captured the incident.
The documents describe the man’s action as walking towards the aisle and facing the shelf. He had his hand on his below belt area. The stance is similar to that of urination. He stood at the same spot for over several seconds. He pissed on 345 cans of Spam and about 188 cans of Vienna sausage, as reported by People. The total cost of the damages was $10,584 as the store had to discard all the contaminated food.

This has been mentioned in the court affidavit. Mitchel was also seen around the snack section. He also took a break from the patio furniture for around ten minutes. Then he paid for his items and left. The store confirmed their losses as they were forced to throw away so much food, given it wasn’t fit for consumption after this.
Since Mitchel has a Sam’s Club membership, he was easy to identify by the store manager. He provided the same details to the police to make an arrest. Despite having proof and video recording, Mitchel has responded not guilty to the charges against him in the last court appearance on June 9. Now, he’s supposed to appear in court on June 30.

Apart from this, no other information from Mitchel’s attorney or comments from the police is available about the case. Many people aren’t surprised over the news as Florida always has one thing or another going one. Some people were sympathetic to the man as these can be signs of Alzheimer. The man may not have realized what he was doing.
