Donald Trump seems to be making good on his word when it comes to illegal immigration. One of the 10 executive orders that the President signed off on his inauguration day was aimed at dealing with illegal immigrants.

A recent report revealed just how many immigrants have been arrested, and the number is truly shocking. The order that Trump signed demanded illegal immigrants to self-report. If an individual fails to do so, they could be subjected to fines or even prosecution.

The guidelines required people who were residing in the States illegally to register their fingerprints and provide an address. Trump administration declared that they would be deporting criminals on a priority basis.

Trump has been vocal about his views on the matter on several occasions. During his first term as President, he had spoken about how illegal immigration “undermines public safety” and “places enormous strain” on resources.

“Illegal immigration costs our country billions and billions of dollars each year,” he added to explain the gravity of the situation. Recently, the Republican shared that his administration would be sending criminals illegally residing in the country to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

He shared how the detention center in Cuba can accommodate 30,000 of the “worst criminal aliens” who are “threatening” the American people. The 78-year-old noted that the place will be used to hold “dangerous criminals” and individuals who are “hard to deport.”

An estimate of just how many people have been arrested after the executive order was put into place was revealed. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement started arresting people on January 20, 2o25.

ICE made 113,000 arrests in a year when Joe Biden was in office. A recent report estimated that the number could be doubled this year under Trump’s regime.

Tricia McLaughlin, who is a spokesperson for Homeland Security, revealed that 20,000 individuals with a criminal record were arrested in just a month. McLaughlin revealed that 22 of the people arrested were identified as terrorists. Shockingly, 64o people were suspected to be possible gang members.

Kush Desai, who serves as a spokesperson for the White House, attacked the Biden government while giving props to Trump. He criticised the former administration for their “outright incompetence” and “negligence.”

“The Trump administration has re-established a no-nonsense enforcement of and respect for the immigration laws of the United States,” Desai added. He also addressed the recent arrests while explaining how crucial the step was.

“Hundreds of violent, predatory, and gang-affiliated criminal illegal aliens have already been rounded up and deported by ICE since President Trump took office,” the spokesperson explained.

Desai explained how the Trump government is “aligned” with securing the country’s borders by means of mass deportation. He noted how Trump is quickly and effectively taking the right steps to “put Americans and America First.”

On the other hand, Trump is reportedly not too pleased with the pace of the deportations. A source close to the President told NBC News that Trump is “angry” with how things are proceeding. The Republican reportedly wants “more people” to be deported to feel at ease.
