At this point, America is all about Donald Trump, taxes, and immigration laws. It’s funny and interesting at the same time how a nation is obsessed with a president and his rules. That could be how the 78-year-old wanted his PR image: dramatic, obsessive, and full of fresh scandals and news reports. From bizarre claims about a leg bulge to the long-circulated “Melania body double” gossip, Trump has often found himself at the center of the viral chatter.

Now, a recent video showing the 78-year-old stumbling while climbing the stairs to Air Force One on June 8 has reignited a peculiar theory: that Trump has bathmophobia—a fear of stairs or slopes. Did you laugh out loud like we did? He was already allegedly homophobic, and now he’s bathophobic.

As per the outlet Tyla, the stumble occurred as Trump was boarding the aircraft en route to Camp David, where he was prepared to meet with military officials amid nationwide protests. This visit happened after ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) had begun conducting raids in heavily Latino areas of Los Angeles.

Donald Trump quickly recovered after tripping on the stairs and continued without looking back. The incident went viral, largely because Trump had previously mocked President Joe Biden for similar slips on the Air Force One official flight.

“Joe Biden can’t even walk up a flight of stairs on Air Force One… We have somebody that doesn’t have a clue representing us,” the MAGA supporter said. (via News 18) Moreover, just after Trump, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also stumbled on the same staircase as he followed the President.

Social media users and the followers of the anti-Trump club quickly pointed out his hypocrisy and said, “Hypocrisy at its finest,” another user commented. Another said, “It’s funny how the words he uses to attack others always seem to come back around on him.”

Some users quickly restored speculation about Donald Trump’s supposed fear of stairs. One user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, “Look through Trump’s history—he’s afraid of stairs. This is his nightmare caught on tape.” Another added, “Trump looks more afraid of the stairs than he was of the guy who shot at his rally.”

Although nobody has confirmed any such phobia, and the theory remains unproven, it’s once again taken social media by storm, reminding us how a single misstep can spiral into viral speculation. Meanwhile, before his departure, Donald  Trump spoke to reporters about the violent protests in Los Angeles, where demonstrators disputed with law enforcement, resulting in property damage, looting, and conflicts with police.

In response, Trump further labeled the protesters as “animals” and “a foreign enemy,” prompting Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass to declare a local emergency and impose a complete curfew in downtown areas.

These protests began as retaliation against Trump’s ruthless immigration policies. Later, the Trump administration was accused of illegally deploying 4,100  National Guard and 700 Marines to the streets of the largest city in America. As immense political unrest and tensions surround the nation, peace seems like a distant dream. However, only time will reveal if Donald Trump’s administration mends its ways and submits to the people’s demands.
