CVS employees falsely accuses black teenager of threatening her

An altercation between a CVS worker and a black teen has left social media users’ blood boiling. The teenager was arrested by cops who arrived at the scene after they were told a knife was pulled out as a threat to the employee. Later, the teen was proven to be innocent, leading to social media users demanding that CVS fire the employee.

Police officers rushed to a CVS store on September 29 after they got a call about a knife-wielding teenager threatening an employee. “The caller reported that a male individual inside the store was yelling, using profane language, and had allegedly threatened staff,” Ron Camacho, who serves as the North Charleston Police Chief, said.

Camacho shared how the caller had said that the teenager “may” have been armed with a knife. Following the call, the cops arrested a teenager who matched the description given to them. The teenager was let go after the cops did not find any weapons on him.

A video that shows the arrest happening in real time is now going viral on social media. The video was shot by a bystander who saw the whole interaction happen. The woman behind the camera maintains that the teenager was innocent.

In the clip, several police officers can be seen pinning the boy down as several people around them defend the teenager. The woman shooting the scene pans the camera to the CVS worker while blaming her for what the boy is put through.

“You didn’t understand what he did! He threatened me with a knife!” the CVS worker counters. The refutes her claim while adding that she had witnessed the altercation and saw the teen doing no such thing.

“Then why didn’t you defend me?” the CVS worker questions while standing by her initial claim. “Because he did nothing wrong,” the woman behind the camera answers. One of the officers then proceeds to inquire if a knife was pulled out by the teenager.

“No he didn’t! He didn’t do nothing!” another woman can be heard yelling in the background. The woman behind the camera explains how the CVS cashier likely misheard what the teenager actually said and acted rashly.

“The only thing he said he would pull out is a band, and a band is money!” she can be heard recalling. The woman advises that it would have been best if the worker had just “shut up” if she didn’t understand the slang instead of causing a scene.

The teenager was taken into custody and charged with third-degree assault and breach of peace. Outraged netizens were left wondering if the CVS worker, on the other hand, had to face any repercussions for her actions.

“Did the white lady who worked at @cvspharmacy get fired? If not, she needs to be. Maybe we should let the Internet do its thing if she wasn’t,” one inquired on Threads. Others threatened to boycott CVS until the woman was fired.
