As per law enforcement in the Sunshine State, a Florida man has recently been arrested after a home invasion went awry. However, it was not necessarily the arrest that left the defendant in a difficult position.
Austin Caresani, a 31-year-old man, is accused of one count of home invasion without a firearm. Recent reports have been released by the Broward County court. According to an arrest report obtained by Law&Crime, the event happened at a property close to the intersection of N.E. 3rd Avenue and N.E. 24th Street in Wilton Manors. This is a small municipality in the Miami metro area that is only a few kilometers due north of Fort Lauderdale.
It has been reported that Henny Rojas was at the house when the unknown man walked in. The reports also claim Rojas is a trained MMA fighter. Hence, Rojas was more or less ready for anyone who entered the Octagon, and the suspect was no exception.
The outcome of the fight that took place in the small suburban neighborhood on Saturday is depicted in the defendant’s mug shot. Furthermore, Rojas was not shy about showing off his skills to Caresani. “I’m prepared,” the proud pugilist told Miami-based CBS affiliate WFOR. “It’s not my first time. I don’t feel any pain. Nothing.”
In an interview, the homeowner’s brother dressed in purple, shadowboxed a little for the cameras, and showed off the moves that quickly ended the terrifying intrusion that occurred last weekend. “I don’t like guns,” Rojas said – adding that he wasn’t looking for a knife to engage the other man, “just God and my hands and that’s all.”
Rojas says that the initial call came from his nephew. “He was saying, ‘Uncle, uncle, wake up, wake up,'” the professional martial artists continued. When Rojas finally woke up, he confronted the unwanted man, and a fight followed.

The parents of the youngster were also interviewed by the TV station. They stated in the interview that they were out of town when their son called them in the middle of the night to inform them about the break-in.
“They come running fast and started punching him in the face,” the boy’s father told WFOR. For Caresani’s part, he argues that everything was a mistake, and he was driven by the spirits he consumed at a nearby drinking hole.
“The defendant does not know any of the residents and made entry through the front door without permission or lawful authority,” the arrest report reads. “Post-Miranda, the defendant advised that he had consumed several alcoholic beverages at a nearby club and was attempting to go to his friend ‘Paul’s’ house, who he stated resides in the area.”
Caresani attempted, whether intentional or not, “to elude one of the witnesses,” the Wilton Manors Police Department said. Obviously, the alleged attempt did not go so well. “We’re not scared, I’m not scared,” Rojas told Miami-based NBC affiliate WTVJ. “It’s too fast, I don’t remember, I just protect my family and that’s it.”
According to court documents, the defendant was held at the Broward County Jail before being freed on a $20,000 bail.
