The shooter, who was wearing all black, was caught on tape but still remains at large. Utah Valley University spokesperson Ellen Treanor shared that the individual initially taken into custody as a suspect was cleared. The authorities are on a manhunt for Kirk’s actual killer.

The 31-year-had been married to Erika Kirk. The couple shared a 3-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old son from their marriage. Erika is a real estate agent and a former Miss Arizona USA. The couple married in May of 2021 after getting engaged the previous year.
