A 17 year old girl in Georgia named Sarah Grace Patrick, has been arrested in Carroll County, Ga. as it is suspected that she has killed her mother and her stepfather. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office confirmed in a press conference on July 8 that the girl had voluntarily turned herself in on February 20, 2025 in regards to the murder of Kristin Brock and James Brock, her mother and stepfather, respectively.
The press release also mentioned that both of them apparently died from gunshot wounds. Sarah’s 6 years old sister had discovered the couple’s body in the bedroom, following which, Sarah herself called 911.
Sarah has been charged with “two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault” as reported by PEOPLE and the press release also mentioned that these charges are the result of a huge amount of physical and digital evidence and numerous interviews.
The press release also mentioned, “From the very moment the 911 call was received, a relentless investigation began, one that would span months, consume thousands of hours, and require the full weight of local and federal law enforcement partnerships.”

Ashley Hulsey, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman, addressed this case on a Facebook livestream where she said, “We don’t know what goes through the mind of a child that wants to harm her parents.” She also said that they are yet to determine a motive behind Sarah’s actions.
Moreover, Hulsey mentioned the possibility of other arrests as they are also trying to determine if other family members were involved in the murder. She said that Sarah has been extremely cooperative during the interviews and the authorities are looking into anything that might suggest that this is a coverup and someone else was also involved in the tragedy.

When Sarah had turned herself in, she was accompanied by her father. Hulsey described the whole situation as extremely tragic and also mentioned how the 6 years old kid is the biggest sufferer in this. She then added, “Our prayers remain with the families of James and Kristin Brock, and especially with their young daughter who was at home during this horrific crime.”
She further said, “We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the community that rallied for justice and never gave up hope.” While investigation is going on, Sarah is being held on bail as has been reported by Fox 5 Atlanta.
