Donald Trump’s health has yet again sparked concern. This time is a cognitive expert is claiming that the President’s mental health is deteriorating. The psychologist even drew parallels between Trump and the famous movie Weekend at Bernie’s.
Trump’s health has sparked concern several times ever since he began his second term in office. Dr. John Gartner, a psychologist, claimed that the President is soon going to have to be wheeled around in the White House.
Gartner, who was previously a professor at Johns Hopkins, made the statement while referring to the 1989 movie Weekend at Bernie’s. In the movie, two men named Richard and Larry wheel their dead boss Bernie around to convince people that he is still alive.
The psychologist drawing parallels between the movie’s premise and real life came after netizens were worried about Trump’s alleged “cognitive decline.” Netizens have endlessly speculated about the possibility of the President having Alzheimer’s.
Many have spoken about the possibility while linking it with Trump’s old age and recent behaviour. “We are going to have a ‘Weekend at Bernie’s’ White House. They’re going to be wheeling him around, but don’t think that he can’t get into trouble,” Dr.Gartner claimed while talking to host Dean Obeidallah on SiriusXM.

He also noted how the situation is going to be a “farce to tragedy” and “absurd.” Gartner goes on to explain how dementia causes an individual’s “baseline and function” to deteriorate. The expert then notes how much better Trump was at articulating his thoughts in the clips from the 1980s.
“That’s very important because one of the areas that we can most visibly see this is in his verbal productions,” he added. “He was still a j-rk,” he notes while adding that the President previously formed “polished paragraphs” and now has problems when verbalizing his thoughts.
The psychologist also pointed out how the President is showing signs of phonemic paraphasia, including his vocabulary deteriorating. The expert also noted how Trump often forgets an English word and ends up substituting it with a “non-word that is easier to pronounce that sounds like it.” This is also a symptom of phonemic paraphasia, according to the expert.

Netizens have constantly urged the President to focus on his health since he got re-elected. Trump became the oldest person to be inaugurated as the President of the United States after his second inauguration.
Trump’s recent indecision to send more weapons to Kyiv caused people to be even more concerned. “We’re going to send some more weapons. We have to,” Trump said after he had previously put a pause on sending weapons deliveries to Kyiv.
