Marko Cinan, 23, and Justin Joshua Guzman, 22, have been arrested in the murder of Marine Veteran Anthony Sanders. The horrific shooting took place at the Galleria Mall in Texas, killing a 30-year-old Marine veteran in the parking garage. The police were called on June 3, at 5 pm, after the shooting happened.
Meanwhile, the cops at the Houston mall attended to the scene when they heard Sanders’ fiancée’s screams. Paramedics came to help and took him to the hospital. Doctors pronounced him dead. Speaking to the case detectives, the fiancée said Sanders was picking her up from work. The defendants came in the same lift as Sanders’ fiancée, and she ignored them. However, they started asking her questions that she didn’t answer, as she did not know them.
They called her a stupid, ugly b****. They got off the lift on a different floor than her, and she went to meet her fiancé. She explained the disrespectful encounter to Sanders and what had happened in the lift. Sanders drove around the garage to look for the men and confront them. Their kid was also in the car. He spotted them and drove towards them.
First, their altercation started with a verbal exchange before heading towards their cars. The driver brake-checked the victim, and then the suspects and Sanders exited the vehicle, as per Law & Crime. Guzman, one of the accused, announced, “you dodn’t want to mess with me.” They pulled out guns and started shooting at Sanders, firing 14 times.
I wonder if these 2 little punks are in the country legally & this asshole’s attorney is a scumbag! These punks killed an unarmed US veteran with his wife & young son in the car with him! Texas has the death penalty for exactly this type of situation! https://t.co/GQoPybF0hf

The accused flew from the scene but were caught in a short time. When they got out of their Chrysler, two used bullet cartridges fell off. Their vehicle had bullet holes as they kept firing while leaving the mall parking lot. Initially, they were let go while the investigation had just started. The accused told the detective they shot in self-defense.
Guzman informed the detective they had been pulled over, and Sanders came on their tale as they were leaving the mall. He stated that Sanders started to threaten them verbally, and he also had a knife and a gun. However, investigators did not find any weapons on the victim. Anthony Sanders’ parents, who are also veterans, spoke to CBS affiliate KHOU wanting justice for their son.
“We’re here for justice.” Just spoke with the parents of Marine vet Anthony Sanders who was fatally shot last month at The Galleria during a parking garage dispute. A suspect’s bond is set at $1 million. More on @KHOU. Background: https://t.co/UvpgBrr9n1 #khou11 pic.twitter.com/GbqbSoloWA

Guzman’s attorney, Romy Kaplan, has said that it was self-defense. The defendant told Sanders allegedly had a knife with him. More details will be clarified in the legal process soon.
Frank Sanders, the victim’s father, said, “This was uncalled for.” The accused are currently in prison, waiting for their next court date on Wednesday. Guzman turned himself in and has a $750,000 bond, and Cinan has a $1 million bond.
