Elon Musk and Donald Trump‘s wild drama has returned with Season 2. The former ‘best buddies’ had a falling out last month when Trump announced his ‘big, beautiful bill’. The Tesla CEO felt betrayed by the President as he shared his plans to remove the EV mandate. Musk’s anger towards Trump wasn’t truly shocking as he was the one who financed Trump’s election campaign in 2024.
After heated public exchanges, Musk had put an end to their fight by expressing regret on social media. However, it seems that the feud is far from over. As the Senate passed Trump’s tax and spending megabill, Musk again expressed his resentment on self-owned social media platform, X.
Hitting the debt ceiling is the only thing that will actually force the government to cut waste and fraud.
That’s why the debt ceiling legislation exists!

Elon’s public criticism against the ambitious bill hasn’t gone well with Trump, who has now expressed that he wouldn’t mind deporting the former DOGE head. A reporter recently asked the President, “Are you going to deport Elon Musk?”
To this, Trump replied, “I don’t know. We’ll have to take a look. We might have to put DOGE on Elon. You know? You know what DOGE is? DOGE is the monster that might have to go back and eat Elon. Wouldn’t that be terrible?”
“He gets a lot of subsidies. But, Elon is very upset that the EV mandate is going to be terminated. And you know what? When you look at it, who wants. Not everybody wants an electric car. I don’t want an electric car. I want to have maybe gasoline, maybe electric, maybe a hybrid,” he added.

As the clip reached Elon, he expressed that it’s tempting to escalate this issue but wouldn’t do so. His tweet reads, “So tempting to escalate this. So, so tempting. But I will refrain for now.”

Netizens couldn’t ignore Trump’s comment claiming he doesn’t want an electric car. A few months ago, when Tesla cars and showrooms were being vandalized across the country, Trump got himself a flashy red Tesla and posed with it outside the White House. Commenting on the irony, a social media user commented, “Trump turns the whitehouse into a Tesla showroom then says he doesn’t want an electric car.”
Another wrote, “What happened to “I love teslurrrrrr?”
Someone suggested Musk, “Drop all the goods Elon. All the files and all the things that you know. It’s time.”
Commenting on Trump’s bitterness towards his former friend, an Instagram user commented, “All of his deals, friendships, marriages end this way.”
Trump believes that Musk is agitated because the EV mandates have been terminated. However, Musk clarified that he is opposing the megabill not because of the removal of mandates or tax credits. He told that he is concerned about the “rising government debt” that would follow the bill.
Musk acknowledged that he knew that EV mandates would eventually go away under Trump’s administration and he is least bothered about it.
In an old interview which Musk has reposted on his profile recently, he said, “If you eliminated all EV incentives tomorrow, Tesla’s competitive position would improve significantly. I’ll say that again. If you eliminated all EV tax credits, Tesla’s position would improve immediately.”
However, Trump wrote on Truth Social, “Without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa.”
