The world is getting closer to learning the fate of music mogul Sean “P. Diddy” Combs as the jury approaches a full verdict on all five counts against him.
Diddy has pleaded not guilty and denied all of the accusations against him, despite being charged with five different offenses ranging from sex trafficking to racketeering. Four of the accusations have been determined by the jury, but the racketeering allegation is still pending.
One person, President Donald Trump, has the power to pardon Diddy, who faces a potential life sentence, just like he did for Todd and Julie Chrisley. Back in May, Trump made remarks about the possibility of a pardon.
At a May 30 press conference, a journalist asked Trump, “You mentioned once in 2012 that Diddy was a good friend of yours back then. He has since found himself in some very serious legal trouble. Would you ever consider pardoning him?” Trump replied, “Nobody’s asked, but I know people are thinking about it,” and added, “Some people have been very close to asking.”
Trump further elaborated, “First of all, I’d look at what’s happening. And I haven’t been watching it too closely, although it’s certainly getting a lot of coverage. I haven’t seen him, I haven’t spoken to him in years,” reports the Mirror US.

Trump then discussed his ties with Diddy in the past, saying, “He used to really like me a lot, but I think when I ran for politics, that relationship busted up from what I read. I don’t know, he didn’t tell me that, but I’d read some nasty statements in the paper all of a sudden.”
“It’s different, you become a much different person when you run for politics, and you do what’s right. I could do other things, and I’m sure he’d like me, and I’m sure other people would like me, but it wouldn’t be as good for our country. Like we said, our country is doing really well because of what we’re doing. It’s not a popularity contest,” he elaborated.
🔥🚨BREAKING: Trump just floated the idea of pardoning Diddy.
Not because of the evidence.
Not because of the facts. But because, and I quote, “He used to really like me a lot.” pic.twitter.com/9B4IOamOCS

In closing, the president stated, “I would definitely consider the facts. Whether or not they liked me, it wouldn’t matter if I witnessed someone being abused.” Tomorrow, July 2, the jury will resume its deliberations in Diddy’s case, with a particular emphasis on the racketeering charge.’’
