Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt seems to be the new favorite face of online backlash! The ambitious, witty, and adamant lady has been mirroring Trump-like straightforward, rude, and loud qualities in her recent press briefings, and the internet can’t help but notice. Leavitt once again faced backlash online for her tone and presentation during a recent press briefing, where she passionately promoted President Donald Trump’s legislative agenda.

Critics on social media took issue with Leavitt’s delivery, describing her tone as “yelling” and “whining.” Some compared her unfavorably to Karine Jean-Pierre, former President Joe Biden’s press secretary, who served from 2022 to 2025. One user on X (formerly Twitter) commented, “Karoline Leavitt is trying too hard! She doesn’t need to raise her voice. Her props for show and tell don’t help her cause.”

As per The Irish Star, Karoline Leavitt spoke about Donald Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” on June 30, 2025. During the press conference, Leavitt was loud as she held up a memo President Trump sent to the Chair of the Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell, on a paper that said “Word Central Bank Rates.” On the piece of paper, the convicted person had written a message to Powell in black Sharpie.

“Jerome, you are, as usual, ‘too late;’ you have cost the USA a fortune and continue to so. You should lower the rate by a lot! Hundreds of Billions of dollars are being lost. No inflation,” Trump wrote and signed his name at the end. Netizens did not like the message and slammed Karoline for her conduct during the conference.

A user said, referring to Karine Jean-Pierre, “Watching KJP and @PressSec is night and day. KJP may have been ‘incompetent’ and the ‘worst press sec’ ever, but #karolineleavitt takes the cake. She whines and whines and cries and cries. She’s SOOOOOO insufferable!!!!”

For context, Karine Jean-Pierre was the 35th White House press secretary from 2022 to 2025 for Joe Biden, as well as holding senior advisory roles in the Biden administration and playing a key role in Kamala Harris’s 2020 vice presidential campaign. Karine was the first Black and openly LGBTQ person to be in the prestigious position.

Infamous Reddit discussion threads online debate over who’s a better press secretary. While both Karoline Jean-Pierre and Karoline Jean-Pierre have their flaws and strengths, Karine Jean-Pierre was generally seen as more experienced, articulate, and professional. At the same time, Karoline Leavitt is viewed as a more aggressive, fast-talking individual.

This isn’t the first time Karoline Leavitt has faced negative reviews for her tone. During a Fox News interview on June 25, she vigorously defended Donald Trump’s recent unauthorized military action in Iran:  “No other president in history could have ever dreamed of such a success,” she said, referring to the strikes.

The journalist once again drew online reactions on X, with one person asking, “Why is she yelling at me?” and another writing, “Karoline is wearing her big cross, so she thinks she’s allowed to yell at the top of her lungs.”

The press conference on June 30, 2025, comes as Trump’s “big beautiful bill”  has passed the key Senate vote with a narrow vote of 51 to 49. The bill is set to be entitled to the next round of votes.  The bill happens to be the most ambitious agenda for the Republican party as it includes tax cuts, essential changes to Medicaid and other safety net programs, more money for border security, and support for oil and gas production.

Even though many Americans believe the bill would only benefit the privileged and wealthy people in the country ( owing to its pros and cons), Trump is adamant about passing the bill before July 4, 2025, the day which is marked as Independence Day across the nation.
