JD Vance and his wife, Usha Vance made a joint appearance on Thursday, June 26, as they attended FIFA Club World Cup match at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati. The Second Couple was seated in a VIP suite guarded by Secret Service agents and snipers amid growing fears of Iranian terrorist sleeper cells on US soil.
Every time the cameras turned towards the JD and Usha, it gave a silent glimpse of how the second lady was probably too bored to be sitting there. Their body language and demeanor suggested a notable distance between them. Although Usha was seen holding a glass of champagne, she didn’t seem to be enjoying herself. She carried a constant despondent look on her face, which hinted that she probably didn’t even want to be at the event.

In one of the snaps, the couple was seen sitting beside each other. While Usha sat without a smile, JD was busy talking to a man on his other side. In another picture, Usha and JD were sitting two seats apart.
There was also a moment when the Second Lady placed an elbow on her knee and rested her head as she looked down on the floor. At other moments, she was seen glaring into nothingness. Her body language suggested that either she is not a soccer fan or she wasn’t enjoying the company.

It’s also possible that she wasn’t able to enjoy due to all the safety concerns amid the ongoing tensions with Iran. Though Secret Service agents were positioned on the roof of the stadium and snipers were set up to ensure their safety, it’s difficult not to think about the safety of oneself and the family when the world is on the brink of war.
Another reason why Usha looked exhausted and bored could be related to the ongoing rumors of trouble in their marriage. Usha and JD’s marriage has been under scrutiny ever since they gained international limelight. Several reports have claimed marital issues, although there hasn’t been a legit proof of it.
Usha’s public appearances often give a hint that she is tired of her duties as a second lady. Her disinterest in political duties and spotlight once again took the spotlight as she said that she is barely interested in becoming the first lady if JD Vance runs for president in 2028. During her recent appearance on Citizen McCain with Meghan McCain, Usha said, “I’m not plotting out next steps or really trying for anything after this.”
She added that after JD is free from his duties as the VP in four years, “In a dream world, eventually I’ll be able to live in my home and kind of continue my career.”
We wonder if Usha low-key regrets giving up her career in law to support her husband.
Moreover, JD always seems to embarrass his Yale graduate wife in public. Earlier this month, their anniversary on June 14 was overshadowed by Trump’s 79th birthday and the military parade. When JD addressed the crowd at the parade in DC, he tried to be humorous, but we know that it isn’t his forte.
The Vice President said, “I would get into trouble if I didn’t mention that it’s also my wedding anniversary. And so, to my lovely wife, I love ya, honey. Happy anniversary, and thank you for everything you do for our country.”
Now, let’s be honest. Making a joke about your wife and how husbands have to live in fear is so 20th-century. The VP saying that he would get in “trouble” with his wife isn’t something hilarious. What is funny is how the ruling party lives in delusion. Take the example of them claiming that they ‘mediate’ between conflicting countries and stop wars!
Coming back to Usha and JD, the couple’s public appearance always gives away hints of troubles in their marriage. In March, JD said, “Here’s the thing – The cameras are all on; anything I say, no matter how crazy, my wife Usha has to smile, laugh, and celebrate it.” And there she was, standing behind him and smiling in embarrassment. People even pointed out that she looked “uncomfortable and miserable.”

Well, these red flags in their relationship aren’t entirely new. The couple, who got married a decade ago, met in law school. However, it wasn’t a love at first sight, nor some dramatic love story. In an interview with Diya TV, Usha said, “So as it happened, he and I just had the exact same schedule for the first semester. So we were just sorta stuck together whether we wanted to be or not.”
Well, the term “stuck together” to define the early years of one’s courtship isn’t quite common. Instead, it is often used when the couple feels suffocated in a relationship. But maybe Usha is right. They are indeed stuck together “whether they want to be or not.
