Donald Trump’s health has been a constant source of concern recently. From spotting a huge bruise on his hand to the appearance of a bulge in his trouser, there have been numerous speculations of the President not doing well. While The White House and Trump himself have maintained that he is in perfect health, his public appearance has often hinted at the opposite.

Besides the physical signs of his declining health, concerns about Trump’s mental health have also been rife. Recently, Trump’s nephew, Fred Trump III mentioned that he was worried about his uncle’s mental health and pointed at the troubling history of dementia allegedly running in the Trump family.

Fred’s new book, All in the Family: The Trumps and How We Got This Way follows the past of the Trumps and highlights how dementia allegedly runs in their family. In an interview on Sirius XM last Friday, he voiced his concerns over the American President’s cognitive abilities and also pointed out the signs that hint at their decline.

He further mentioned how Trump’s father and Fred’s grandfather battled Alzheimer’s for eight years before he passed away in 1999. Talking about the same, Fred said on Sirius XM, “You know, Donald said, ‘Oh, my father was tiptop until the end.’ I can assure you, that was not the case. I know what I saw in my grandfather.”

He further mentioned that similar signs were seen in John Walters, Trump’s cousin and highlighted the fact that the President has also shown behaviors that follow the pattern. Talking about how it runs in the family, Fred said, “I know what I saw in Donald’s older sister, my aunt Maryanne, who in the end … I am not a doctor, I don’t pretend to be. I just, I know the warning signs from both of my grandfathers.”

He further added, “Donald’s cousin, John Walters, had dementia. It runs in the family. He looks older. And I get it … anybody who is in that office looks different than when they come out. But the things he’s spewing and the craziness, and he just can’t stick to a message. And he used to be able to stick to a message.”

It should be noted here that Fred’s sister Mary Trump, President Trump’s niece is a psychologist and has written a book on this topic as well. Both the siblings have been openly critical of Trump and also supported Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 election.

In her recent Substack post, Mary Trump criticized Donald Trump vehemently over him attacking Iran and increasingly getting involved in the Iran-Israel situation. While Mary criticized Trump regarding his political decisions and leadership abilities, Fred’s comments further highlight how the President’s mental health might also result in him not being able to make sound and rational judgement.
