Second Lady Usha Vance has made sure we know her style isn’t a copy of other MAGA women. Moreover, she does not even bother to mimic the Mar-a-Lago face that Trump administration women like Karoline Leavitt and Pam Bondi have. Yet her fashion choices are bold and make a statement that she’s here to mark her presence.
She sports silver strands in different hairstyles and minimal makeup. Besides, her outfits have progressed from neutral colors to brighter ones. It says a lot about her and her marriage to JD Vance.
Earlier Usha used to opt for neutral colors like beiges, browns, and pale greens along with some cobalt here and there. These colors were not too on the face or asking for attention. They were telling of how supportive she is of her husband and she does not want extra attention on her.
It seemed like she did not want to distract the media from her husband, who was doing his job during the elections. However, her style evolved as he became the VP, and we saw her first glimpse on inauguration day. That day, everyone else wore blue, black and green in dark shades.
However, Usha opted for a pale pink dress with a coat and scarf to match. Her outfit stood out and screamed that she was not just a traditional wife but way more. The choice of color made her mark her presence and her plans on not being invisible for the duration of the term.

It seems like she does not want to copy anyone or twin with other MAGA women; she’s here to make her own place. Her transition from neutral colors to bold ones has been an exciting journey. In April 2025, she was spotted in a red-column dress and patterned skirt on her trip to India. She is also venturing into designer wear as she wore Oscar de la Renta earrings and Badgley Mischka outfit.
Another thing she skips doing is matching with her husband. Many couples may stick to one theme when devising outfits for a public occasion. But she stands out in the crowd, even from her own husband. We have established she isn’t a crowd-follower since she does not follow any MAGA woman for style.

For instance, Karoline Leavitt has a Barbiecore style with makeup and bright pink outfits, which seems a bit attention-seeking. However, Usha, even in the most glamorous off-shoulder groans, looks classy and put together.
Many MAGA women also choose to include politics in their accessories, but you’ll never see Usha making that fashion choice. She still supports the party and her husband’s work, but her outfits don’t need to push that agenda.
