Trigger Warning: This article contains details about shooting and violence.
At this point in the American political scenario, we have covered almost everything: assassination reports, conspiracy theories, allegations, and crime.
But we rarely encountered a brave man who could mess with the nation’s lawmakers. Reportedly, a man accused of killing a Minnesota state lawmaker and her husband allegedly had a manifesto listing dozens of potential targets, according to police.
57-year-old Vance Boelter has been charged with the murders of Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark Hortman, who were found shot dead at their home. He is also accused of wounding Senator John Hoffman and his wife in a separate attack on June 14 in Champlin at 2 a.m.
Authorities revealed that Boelter used a fake police vehicle to pose as a law enforcement officer, allowing him to approach the victims’ homes undetected.

As per The Sun, inside the vehicle, the cops found a cache of weapons, including at least three AK-47 assault rifles and a manifesto with the names and addresses of other public officials. Meanwhile, Bolter, who was arrested near his home in Green Isle on Sunday night after a brief search, was carrying a list of 45 names to attack next, some of whom were abortion rights advocates, said law enforcement officials.
On the day of the incident, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to Boelter’s finding and conviction. Luckily, Belter was found in the Sibley County area after his car was spotted on June 15.

“This is the largest manhunt in the state’s history,” Brooklyn Park Police Chief Mark Bruley said at the briefing. Vance Boelter appeared in court on June 16, and he has currently been charged with two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of attempted second-degree murder, with further federal charges that could carry the death penalty under consideration.
In addition, following the targeted shootings of Minnesota lawmakers, a list of approximately 45 names of notable political figures and abortion rights advocates was reportedly included.
Those listed were U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar, U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar, Senator Tina Smith, Senator Tammy Baldwin, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, Governor Tim Walz, Representative Kelly Morrison, Representative Rashida Tlaib, and Representative Hillary Scholten.

Also named was philanthropist MacKenzie Scott, the ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. In addition to political figures, the list included several doctors affiliated with Planned Parenthood and multiple abortion providers, including one clinic slated to open in Omaha, Nebraska.
Consequently, apart from Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark Hortman’s death in this horrible political murder, the couple’s dog, Gilbert, was seriously injured and had to be euthanized. “Her children had to put him down after learning their parents had been murdered,” former state representative Erin Koegel shared on X (formerly Twitter). A family member revealed the Hoffmans were shot 11 times and that Yvette had shielded her daughter with her body during the attack.
The incident has left the residents of Minnesota shocked and frightened, with many condemning the attack as politically motivated violence. Condolences flocked in from all big political names in the country, including Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who posted a picture of Hortman on X on Sunday and wrote, “the most consequential Speaker in state history.”
