A horrific plane crash occurred yesterday, June 12, shortly after getting in the air. The Air India plane crashed right after taking off in Ahmedabad. Earlier, it was speculated that there were no survivors and all 242 passengers had died. The plane carried 169 Indians, 1 Canadian, and 53 British nationals.
A British passenger sitting on 11A miraculously survived the horrific crash by jumping off the plane. He heard a loud noise right after the takeoff. His family has responded since he was discovered alive. Vishwash Kumar Ramesh is the only survivor after the crash. However, he was scared of the dead bodies and broken plane pieces around him.
In his interview, he stated that the crash occurred quickly within thirty seconds. He got up around several dead bodies, feeling scared. He ran to safety despite getting injuries in his eyes, chest, and feet. Ramesh was taken to an ambulance and then to a hospital for treatment.
His relative, Ajay Valgi, spoke to the BBC about Ramesh and said he had called them to inform them he was fine. He added, “We were just shocked as soon as we heard it”.
Ramesh’s brother, Nayankumar, was also on the flight, but he does not know anything about him. Ramesh has a wife and a kid. Born in India, Ramesh moved to the UK and has been residing there with his family for a few years. His relative adds that the family is shocked about the news.

Ramesh is unaware of how he exited the plane. He was discovered covered in blood, as his dad states. The passenger was sitting near the emergency exits on the aircraft, which explains his survival. This is the first accident related to the 787-8 Dreamliner.
The pilot called Mayday, and after that, the plane crashed. So far, there has been no specific cause, but experts say a bird hit or engine thrust failure may be the reason. The plane took off at 1:39 p.m. and crashed within a few minutes. It was just 600-800 feet in the air before it started plummeting. The flight was supposed to land at the London Gatwick airport.
