A mom shared a TikTok video explaining how she witnessed a bizarre moment when her 2-year-old daughter began speaking with her father, who passed away in 2002. On one ordinary day, Chyanne J. woke up and found her daughter talking to someone in the hallway. According to her, the toddler insisted that she was speaking with her late grandfather.
The mother has since shared a video on TikTok that has gained millions of views within days. At the beginning of the video, Chyanne explains, “My daughter kept telling me to come here, and I was cleaning up or whatever, and that’s when she said, ‘Your daddy’s here.'”
She added that at first, she only heard her daughter saying, “It’s daddy,” so she asked her, “Is it your daddy, or is it my daddy?” to verify, but was shocked to learn that her 2-year-old was talking to her indeed her father, the toddler’s grandpa.
The video also captures how Chyanne’s daughter pointed down the hallway, reports People. “Your daddy’s missing you,” she said. The mother recalled, “It was panic when she was telling me, ‘It’s your daddy. He’s right here.'”
Moments later, she realized that her toddler had never actually met her grandfather, as he passed away at least 23 years ago. “It kind of hit like, okay, my dad has obviously passed, so, you know …” Chyanne says. She then asked her daughter exactly where he was. To which she replied, “He’s right here.”
“It was emotional, but I was so caught off guard that I didn’t even process what really happened until afterward.”
The viral video garnered an overwhelming response on TikTok. One user commented, “Please believe her; this happened to me.”
The woman says, “It makes me feel not so like, ‘Oh my God, why is this only happening to me?'” She noted that while some people were skeptical, saying that kids sometimes experience things that might not be true, others agreed it could happen.
“A lot of people even messaged me about how they help their children or grandchildren with something similar. That’s been helpful, too.”
Notably, this wasn’t the first time that Chyanne’s 2-year-old claimed something like this. Merely months earlier, she was reluctant about sleeping in her own room. “I knew something was wrong because it was almost like she was afraid,” the woman noted. She added that her daughter claimed there was “a ghost” in her room, referring to her late grandpa. The TikToker wanted to calm her down and showed her a picture from her wedding day where her dad’s photo had been added by edit.
“I think seeing me in the photo with him comforted her because she knew this was nothing to be afraid of.”
Chyanne notes that from that day onward, her toddler began calling her late grandpa “daddy ghost.” She even claimed that the ghost saw her. However, the woman found it bizarre, given her daughter never got to meet him in real, as she herself was only 2 years old when her father died.
Now, Chyanne hopes that she can bring her daughter to visit her dad’s grave. “Every time we’ve tried, something came up. But now I really want to take her out there, especially since she understands so much,” she said.
