On the night of June 3, 2025, 23 years old Anthony Thomas Reyes allegedly broke into Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort as he wanted to propose to Kai Trump, the President’s granddaughter. As Anthony tried to scale the walls of the 62,500-square-foot resort, he was caught by the police.
Besides acknowledging his admiration for Kai, Anthony also mentioned that he wanted to “spread the gospel” to Trump, which was another reason behind him trying to get inside the property. While the American President was at Washington D.C. during the time the incident happened, he has been briefed about the same, as has been mentioned by a White House spokesperson.
It should be noted here that this is not the first time Anthony has tried to trespass into Mar-a-Lago resort. On December 31, 2024, he had made a similar attempt and during that time the President was also present at the property.
As reported by The Sun, “Reyes was initially arrested on trespassing charges and given a $1,000 bond. This was subsequently raised to $50,000, according to records from the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office.” Given the kind of history that Anthony has, he might be facing federal charges.
Kai Trump turned 18 years old last month and she is one of the most popular granddaughters across the globe because of being the American President’s eldest son’s daughter. Kai shares a very good relationship with Trump and frequently posts her pictures with her grandfather on various social media platforms.

She takes a keen interest in golf, just like her grandfather and two are often seen to be having a game together. In a recent vlog, Trump praised Kai’s golfing abilities as he said, “I just wanna say that I play a lot of golf with Kai and she’s a fantastic golfer. She’s a scratch player, which is amazing. I think some day in the not-too-distant future she’s gonna be much better than scratch.”
He further added, “She’s doing really well, and she wins a lot of matches. Some day she’ll be able to beat her grandfather, but I’m not sure when that’ll be… it might be a long time!” Trump’s words show how fond he is of his granddaughter and how he truly enjoys playing golf and spending time with her.
