It aims to gather information to confirm if President Biden was mentally competent during his important presidential decision. One of these was the use of autopen to authorize some controversial pardons.
The investigation seeks to determine if Biden was in the right state of mind to make these decisions or was he being manipulated by his staff during these critical decisions.
The main reason for this investigation is several high-profile pardons that were granted by President Biden in his final days in office. Among these is the pardon he issued to his son, Hunter Biden. Hunter had been convicted on tax and firearms charges. He also granted pardons to 5 of his other family members. Biden also commuted the sentences of 37 death-row inmates to life in prison.

Now, the Trump-led inquiry is questioning the legitimacy of these pardons. MAGA loyalists argue now, calling this sweeping use of Presidential power unjust. And claims that this shows external influence or impaired judgment.

All the while, this loyalist forgot that Donald Trump pardoned all the Jan 6 convicts. Many of those who tried to kill the police officers who were trying to protect members of Congress and the Senate. These loyalists conveniently forgot Donald Trump placing Elon Musk, an unelected and unconfirmed civilian, at one of the peak positions in the cabinet with the authority to close any department and fire any federal employee he deems unfit.
Trump’s move has now sparked fierce public debate. His supporters argue the investigation is a necessary step. It is to ensure accountability at the highest level of government. They claim that no one should be immune from scrutiny.
However, the irony of the statement is lost.

President Biden was recently confirmed to have advanced-stage prostate cancer. Many view this probe as an attack on vulnerable political rivals. Trump’s actions have been described as nothing less than vindictive and cruel. He still hasn’t risen above his loss from Joe Biden in 2020.

Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel is a respected oncologist. He is also a former White House advisor. He has suggested that Biden may have been dealing with prostate cancer long before the public was made aware.
