The video shows the aircraft door opening, and the president is visibly getting smacked on the face by a hand that’s his wife’s. The 72-year-old Brigitte is not visible at first, but she comes forward as the couple realizes the door is open. Macron, who’s 47, tries to save the situation with a smile, and the two descend from the aircraft together.
This is an embarrassing situation for the two, as the video is now viral. One Elysees official said that it was just a moment of laughter for the two, and they were just trying to relax before getting off the plane. This was a moment depicting the closeness between the two.
The president himself confessed that they were just bickering and joking with each other like all couples do. He says the video has become a geoplanetary catastrophe. So far, the two have tried to downplay the situation. But everyone who has seen the video is assuming things and offering several opinions. To this, Trump replied, “make sure the door remains closed”. This was a sarcastic answer from him. But he continues by saying it wasn’t a good moment for them. Furthermore, he explained that he had spoken to him and that everything was fine between them. He reassures them that they are good people.
His sarcastic dig as the president explains how they could have saved themselves from embarrassment if the door was closed. Their secret altercation or even a joking moment would have been hidden from the world.
Trump’s advice to the French president also sparked speculation that his own marriage was in trouble. This kind of advice only comes from a person who’s been in some awkward situations behind the doors. Maybe that’s why he candidly suggested keeping the doors closed. However, he has never been caught in such a situation with Melania. They may have calculated distance between them even during public appearances, but they seem cordial at all times. This isn’t the first time that the French first couple has been in the news or relationship drama. They have an almost 25-year age gap, and their relationship did not start in an ideal scenario. Brigitte was 39 and married when she met 15-year-old Macron, who was a high school student. The two got married when he was 29.
