When life gets tough, a lot of people find hope in the divine power. The same thing happened with a pregnant woman in Kentucky who believes that God has indeed blessed her unborn child with a heart condition after she prayed every time before her ultrasound appointments.
The woman, whose name is Amanda Foster, is 33 years old and pregnant with her fourth child with her husband Kyle. Amanda’s unborn baby was diagnosed with a heart condition during the early stages of her pregnancy and since then she has been devotedly praying to God for the better health of her child.
In her recent 32-week scan, a large hand seemed to be caressing the child’s head, which Amanda believes is the ‘hand of God’ himself. The image of the scan has naturally gone viral and while some people called it ‘amazing’ others pointed out that it may actually be the baby’s hand, which is appearing large and distorted because of some glitch in the scan.
The couple, however, firmly believes that it is God who has listened to them and is protecting their child. On a Facebook post, Amanda mentioned, “We prayed and prayed along with several others. When we followed up with a specialist, it was gone. I have been so thankful that I’ve begun to pray before every appointment.”
Amanda also has a complicated and tragic history as a mother because her first child, with whom she was pregnant when she was only 17 years old, was diagnosed with Potter’s syndrome when she was 18 weeks into pregnancy.
As reported by Daily Mail, Potter’s syndrome is a condition “that occurs when the baby’s kidneys do not develop properly or are missing. This condition hinders lung development and restricts the baby’s position in the womb, causing physical features like a flattened face, low-set ears, and limb deformities.”

Unfortunately, this led to Amanda losing her first child. Talking about her experience during that time, she said, “My thought at that time was, ‘Well, if God is going to take my son, He will take me too!’”
She then added, “It didn’t work out that way, and I developed a deep resentment and anger toward God. If that wasn’t enough, I was later told it was very unlikely I would ever have a healthy baby boy since Potter’s syndrome is more common in males.”
Amanda then had two healthy girls with her husband but the pain of losing her first son and the fear of not having a healthy male child again made her life agonizing and painful. However, after a long period of suffering and not believing in God, Amanda could not endure anymore and submitted herself to Jesus Christ in 2021.

After she turned into a believer, her life changed for the better, as she said herself and by November the same year she became pregnant again. She then added, “In March of 2022, I found out he was a boy and that he was healthy! He is now two, almost three! Fast forward to now, I found out I was pregnant with another baby boy, and this pregnancy has had its ups and downs.”
Despite the initial hiccups in the pregnancy, Amanda did not lose her faith and according to her, God has shown his miracle, which has helped to strengthen her belief in the divine power and make her happy about the fact that her child is going to be fine.
