Donald Trump has warned the State of California and expressed his willingness to act on his previously made promise. The President has threatened to withhold federal funding from the state after it allegedly defied an executive order. Trump even went as far as calling out Governor Gavin Newsom on Truth Social for what happened.
Trump has been very vocal about his agenda to “keep men out of women’s sports.” At the beginning of the year, he signed an executive order that would prohibit transgender athletes from competing in female sports categories. “With this executive order, the war on women’s sports is over,” the 78-year-old declared as he signed the bill.
The executive order also prohibits transgender athletes from using locker rooms assigned to female athletes. The President had warned that the failure to follow the new executive order could lead to institutions being “investigated for violations of Title IX and risk your federal funding.”
Trump took to Truth Social to accuse California Governor Gavin Newsom of violating the executive order. The accusation came after the controversy surrounding a trans athlete who was allowed to compete in a female sports category.
A transgender athlete has been given the green light to compete in the state championship scheduled to take place next week. The athlete is going to be competing in the girls’ long jump and triple jump events at the tournament. The athlete’s performance at the regional championships gained a lot of attention.

The athlete’s triple jump distance was recorded to be 40-04.75. While the runner-up in the category managed a 39-06.00. The transgender athlete’s long jump score was 19-03.50, while the person who placed second recorded a 19-00.75.
Fox News claimed that the athlete was “a less-than-average competitor” when they competed in male categories previously. The outlet noted that the same athlete is now “practically unbeatable” in female sports categories.
Trump quickly addressed the subject in a Truth Social post in which he did not hesitate to criticize Newsom. “California, under the leadership of Radical Left Democrat Gavin Newscum, continues to ILLEGALLY allow ‘MEN TO PLAY IN WOMEN’S SPORTS,'” The President wrote.

Trump went on to add how unfair and “demeaning” it was to women and girls to let the transgender athlete participate in the sports events. He went on to warn that if the executive order is not adhered to, the state’s federal funding will be held back, and it might be done “ permanently.”
The President also pointed out how Newsom has previously acknowledged how “unfair” it is to let trans athletes compete in female categories. The Governor has previously noted how letting trans athletes participate in women’s sports is an “issue of fairness.” He also went on to call it “deeply unfair.”
