Jamal Wali, a 36-year-old Afghan refugee living in Virginia, opened fire at cops during a routine traffic stop on Sunday. Terrifying bodycam footage has revealed how he was pulled over for speeding, and then he began yelling at the cop, ranting that he should have served the Taliban instead.
Moments later, Wali took out his gun and started shooting at the cop from his Toyota Corolla.
The bodycam footage shows that the fatal shootout occurred after a cop pulled him over and then walked up to him. Jamal Wali instantly threatened him with his weapon, admitting that he didn’t have a license, and ordered the police to go back to his car. “I have a gun, and I’m armed. I don’t have a license,” Wali said.
“Go back, sit in the f–king car, and leave,” he ordered. The officer from the Fairfax Police Department was forced to call for backup when Wali repeatedly refused to provide his ID. Instead, he yelled aggressively, “I should have served with f–king Taliban. They’re better than you.”
Things got heated when the backup car arrived. The officers approached his car together, urging him to get out. At that moment, the Afghan refugee pulled out his handgun and cocked it. Then, he opened fire several shots at the cops, who were standing beside his car.
According to Fox 5 DC, the moment, which could have turned into a tragedy, was saved by an officer who was standing at the passenger side door. As Wali began firing, he immediately retaliated, ultimately hitting him with four bullets.
GoPro footage recovered from Wali’s car revealed how he was preparing to reload and hit Officer Ian LaChapelle. “Today’s the day, buddy,” he even said. However, the cop was able to strike him first, saving the others from a tragedy.
Police in Fairfax, Va. have released the footage showing an armed Afghan migrant trying to kill police on April 23.

The fatal shootout left two officers with minor injuries to their upper arms and elbows, and they received treatment for the wounds. Media outlets also reported that Wali was taken to a local hospital for life-saving measures. However, he was pronounced dead later that day.
Before facing his death, Jamal expressed his rage towards America for bringing him to the country. He claimed that he had served in the special forces, adding that his brother had to take the heat as a result of his service towards the nation. According to the New York Post, he claimed that he arrived in the US in 2014.
You f–king people brought me to this goddamn country, and I’m dying every single goddamned day. I can’t get a job. I can’t get a disability. And they took my f–king license because I can’t pay the insurance. So why are you trying to kill me?” Wali yelled. He also claimed to have four children.
This is the fate of those who betray their people for America’s wars.

LaChapelle received applause from Police Chief Kevin Davis for his heroic gesture. “We also realize, in this particular scenario, that we are very fortunate we didn’t have two police funerals,” said Davis.
“His actions, his deployment of that deadly force saved the lives of the two officers who were on the driver’s side of the car. There’s no doubt about that.”
