New Orleans maximum security jail witnessed a prison break last week as ten dangerous criminals escaped. The incident happened on July 16, 2025 as a routine headcount was going on at the New Orleans Parish jail. The group of escaped prisoners also included murder convicts, making the situation further dangerous.
The group of convicts who escaped consisted of Dkenan Dennis, Gary C Price, Robert Moody, Kendell Myles, Corey E Boyd, Lenton Vanburen Jr, Jermaine Donald, Antonine T Massey, Derrick D. Groves, and Leo Tate Sr. Given the way these prisoners successfully executed their plan of escape, local authorities mentioned to the press that inside involvement seems certain.
Sheriff Susan Huston also mentioned to BBC, “There’s no way for anyone to get out of this facility without help.” As reported by Tyla “Speaking in a news conference, Hutson revealed the group had each pulled the sliding doors from their cells of their track at 23 minutes past midnight, before tearing a toilet from the wall.”
After this the inmates broke the metal bars that were in place around a wall used for piping. They then climbed down the wall to reach the highway nearby. The whole operation took approximately half an hour.
While the entire incident is extremely serious in nature, the prisoners decided to give it a funny spin before they escaped. The image that shows the hole through which the group escapes, also features the writing “To easy Lol.” This naturally caught the attention of netizens, as one posted, “To easy’ is sending me, lmfao.”

Another one added, “What in the prison break!!” The picture also showed that before escaping, one of the prisoners had written “I’m innocent.” It then appeared that the “I’m” was crossed and replaced with “we’are”.
It should be noted here that four of the ten escaped prisoners have already been arrested by the police. However, the rest of the six are still not caught and the law enforcement officials have mentioned that they have arms and they are dangerous. The escaped bunch of prisoners are aged between 19-42 years and their charges also vary including domestic abuse battery and aggravated assault.

FBI Special Agent Jonathan Trapp mentioned that these prisoners, who are on the run are very likely to be receiving from people outside the prison. However, he also mentioned that any one caught shielding the prisoners will face legal consequences of their own.
The bureau has announced a reward of $10,000 per inmate and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has promised another $5,000 on top of this. With constant search for the escaped inmates and announcement of rewards, police hope to catch the prisoners as soon as possible.
