Scarlett Johansson has finally spoken up about her ex-husband Ryan Reynolds’ involvement in the Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni row. The explosive legal battle between the two parties has been the center of media attention for months now. It all began last December, when Lively filed a lawsuit against her It Ends With Us co-star, Justin Baldoni.
The actress alleged that Baldoni, who is also the director of the Colleen Hoover adaptation, s——y harassed her on the set. She also accused him of launching a smear campaign against her to ruin her public image. Baldoni’s side firmly denied these claims and filed a $400 million countersuit against the Gossip Girl star the following month. He also took legal steps against Ryan Reynolds, the ex of Scarlett Johansson, and the present husband of Lively. In addition, the couple’s publicist Leslie Sloane also faced Baldoni’s heat for alleged defamation.
The actor-director also accused the party of trying to “destroy” his career by using their Hollywood influence. As the ordeal continued, people grew curious about what Johansson, who was married to Reynolds from 2008 to 2010, had to say. When asked about the high-profile Tinseltown scandal during a Vanity Fair interview, the Black Widow star let out a “loud, knowing laugh,” according to the publication.
It is important to note that Justin Baldoni‘s production company, Wayfarer Studios, played a major role in landing ScarJo’s directorial debut, Eleanor the Great. Although Johansson most likely didn’t get a chance to meet Justin, as he was busy filming It Ends With Us at the time, the film that will begin it all, she only had positive words for his company.
Justin Baldoni produced Scarlett Johansson directorial debut coming out next month. We have not explored enough Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively crashing out the way they did because of this.

“They were super supportive throughout the process,” said the 40-year-old Hollywood star. “But yeah, such weird timing,” she added.
The success or failure of the ScarJo directorial will serve as a test of Baldoni’s claim that Lively and Reynolds tried to sabotage his career. Lisa Bloom, an attorney, said that if the film ultimately flops, he will likely blame it on the couple. “If it succeeds, his theory that he just can’t make it in Hollywood because of Blake Lively will be obliterated,” Bloom added.
“And expect ScarJo and other big names on the film to be subpoenaed to testify at the Lively-Baldoni trial as to the money he makes from the film, and whether the case really cost him as much as he says,” the attorney added.
During this interview, Scarlett also took a jab at Oscars for snubbing Avengers: Endgame for Best Picture. “It was an impossible movie that should not have worked, that really works as a film, and also, it’s one of the most successful films of all time,” she lamented.
Her upcoming directorial debut, Eleanor the Great, stars June Squibb, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Jessica Hecht, and Erin Kellyman.

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds got married in 2008 and were separated in 2010, before eventually divorcing in 2011.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds met each other in 2010, and began dating a year after. In 2012, they tied the knot.
