Vice President JD Vance and his Indian-origin wife, Usha Vance, are Donald Trump’s loyalists. Of course, you might be thinking, that’s obvious. Who would not support the government they work for? But, while there have been reports of JD Vance criticizing Donald Trump in the past, the couple was reportedly hardly hesitant about joining his political team. Sources believe that the VP holds a significant yet unclear role within the Trump administration.
However, Donald Trump hasn’t really found a comfort zone with second lady Usha Vance. He allegedly keeps her away from his inner circle. Moreover, despite Usha’s endless support for her husband, JD Vance, and the Trump administration,
Insiders, as per tabloid reports, reveal that she does not want her better half to mirror the habits of his boss or become too much like him, especially when it comes to social media.

As per The List, Donald Trump is known for his blunt jabs on social media; he’s clearly unfiltered with his thoughts. The 78-year-old has been slammed several times by netizens for his absurd, funny, and shocking remarks over the years. Twitter, now X, even banned him following the January 6 Capitol riot. Yet, he did not stop! He resorted to his platform, Truth Social.
Similarly, reports as per the outlet claim that JD Vance also appears to infuse that same fiery style of oration in his online posts. The Yale graduate has caught the spotlight on X several times due to his direct and dominating statements. For instance, Vance has been slammed both by the late Pope Francis and the newly elected Pope Leo XIV over immigration policies and the Vice President’s interpretations of Catholic doctrine on social media platforms.

According to popular outlet The Daily Mail, Usha Vance has urged her husband to be more polite with his words online. However, he added with a shrug, “I don’t know that I’ll take advice. Some advice is good. Some advice is, you know, you can be good, but you don’t have to always take it.”
On the other hand, Usha has been a critic of Donald Trump in earlier times, especially during the Capitol riot, where several people were affected.
Even though Usha was deeply upset with the aftermath of the situation, her problems with the President began during his 2016 presidency.

Insiders claim that “Usha Vance found the incursion on the Capitol and Trump’s role in it to be deeply disturbing.” Meanwhile, her husband, JD, was also very judgmental about Trump during the early days of his presidency.
For instance, in a 2016 New York Times op-ed, he stated, “Mr. Trump is unfit for our nation’s highest office.” Similarly, in another interview the same year with NPR, Vance said, “I can’t stomach Trump” and claimed that he thought that the republican candidate was leading the white class to a very dark place.
However, the tables turned when Vance joined him in 2024. As expected, JD then altered his stance during a debate with Democratic opponent and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, suggesting that, when it came to Donald Trump, he may have eventually adopted an “if you can’t beat them, join them” mindset.
All of these claims make us wonder, does Donald Trump really have people who are loyal to him and his ideologies, or is politics just a game of convenience? Time to think, isn’t it?
