JD Vance was just a junior senator out of Ohio who was suddenly thrust into the world political stage. It’s clear that he did not have proper experience, training or even motivation for the role that was gifted to him.
JD’s wife, Usha Vance, does not seem to be dealing with all the limelight well, either. From being a full time working woman at Munger, Tolles & Olson law firm to the role of essentially a house wife, Usha Vance has lost her identity.
The Job of Vice president has created a lot of distance between the couple, and they are not handling it well enough.
She recently sat down with The List. She talked candidly about the toll that political life can have on a family in the interview. She also talked about the loneliness that results from spending a lot of time apart from her spouse. Usha disclosed that they primarily communicate via text messages while JD is occupied with meetings and governmental responsibilities.
Usha offered a unique insight into the emotional toll of political life. She remarked, “I don’t know that he’s asking me for advice so much because it can be a very lonely, lonely world not to share with someone.” Her comments caused people to feel sorry for her. This also gave a glimpse of increasing tensions between the couple.
Usha Chilukuri Vance, the daughter of Indian immigrants, is married to JD Vance.
Meanwhile, Trump—who has consistently criticized immigrants—has married two women who immigrated to the U.S.: Ivana and Melania.

Usha’s new life in Washington, DC, is turning out to be more challenging than she had anticipated. Constant public scrutiny and disagreeable stands by JD Vance are not helping their public life either.
It’s not only the work pressure that is getting to the couple. JD’s inability to stay out of the spotlight is just one of the numerous aspects of this job that Usha Vance may not endure. JD often appears too smug about some controversial statement he made. However, one can assume that Usha may not agree with those statements.

The distance between Usha and JD has grown since their dismal trip to Greenland. Then came being loudly jeered by a crowd at the Kennedy Center. Usha has been the target of negative publicity ever since she quit her job to help her husband. She told The Free Press that it felt like “a switch flipped” when she had to change her entire life.
Another aspect that may damage the marriage is their different religion. Their relationship has also been interestingly influenced by religion. JD became a Catholic and frequently goes to Mass. Usha, however, was raised Hindu and still practices the religion. Despite that, she is seen accompanying her husband to the masses.
JD Vance who converted to Catholicism talks about the night before his speech when he is to formally accept his nomination as VP explains how in the middle of the night he is anxious and can’t sleep and he calls on Jesus to help him.

There are plenty of inter-religious couples who respect each other’s faith. However, to be in such a relationship in the public eye, especially among stout Christians, can be difficult for the couple. It may not seem like that, but it can impact one’s marriage drastically.
The biggest factor driving a wedge between the couple could very well be JD Vance’s job. It is undoubtedly an unappreciated job to serve in President Donald Trump‘s second administration. But maybe he initially believed he would like the challenge.
Vance’s trip overseas and his jabs at America’s European allies appeared to kindle a fire inside him. It was reflected in his hostile encounter with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. But it seems that Vance is currently “finding out” about his behavior, and it may be affecting his marriage.
JD VANCE – On Europe…
“You see them starting to limit the free speech of their own citizens, even as those citizens are protesting against things like the border invasion”
The people can only free themselves.

Marriage does not survive solely on love but also on respect. If one’s ideology clashes with another and the respect is gone, marriage follows soon after.
One can only hope that this couple holds on to each other and their personal beliefs and gets out on the other side.
