Lisa VerMeer, a woman in her 60s, knew exactly what she wanted and this involved plastic surgery. So, when she hit 65, Lisa made a decision and took the plunge. “I’ve always said from my 30s even, when the bloom’s off the rose, I’m going under the knife,” says Lisa with a bit of a giggle in a chat with People.
“I just knew I would. I just always knew that. I’ve always kind of looked young for my age, so I could really push it off for a long time. But finally, when I got to be 60, it was time to really figure out and make a decision,” she added.
It all started when one day Lisa looked in the mirror, and she had no idea what she was looking back at; that was the turning point in her life that made her make this decision. She asked one of her daughters to help her find the best surgeon. Lisa, who is the mom of three, admits that she thought she would have to travel all the way to her hometown Los Angeles to find the best of the best surgeons.

Her daughter did her research and suggested Lisa to visit Dr. Laxmeesh Mike Nayak of Nayak Plastic Surgery in St. Louis, Mo. She had been following Dr. Nayak on social media and was glad they were in the same area. She said, “I loved that he was in the Midwest like me.” Once she saw the before and after pictures by Dr. Nayak was pretty much sold.
She sent in her information and did a Zoom chat, but she admits she was unsure whether she would follow through. However, she claims she had a “gut feeling” that Dr. Nayak knew the moment was right, the doctor was correct, and everything else would fall into place.
However, she had to wait a year on Dr. Nayak’s famous waiting list. She was also thinking about the pricing, which many people ask about on Dr. Nayak’s social media pages. His cost is clearly listed on his website, with deep plane facelifts beginning at $150,000. This is the most expensive procedure he offers, and all other procedures are priced accordingly.
However, the costs of the surgery is personalised to each patient and can be discussed over a consultation. Lisa, who is 66 now, but was 65 when she got her plastic surgery in June 2024. She travelled all the way to St. Louis for the procedure, where she met Dr. Nayak for the first time in person.
Lisa’s procedures included deep necklift, deep plane facelift, browlift, fat transfer, upper and lower blepharoplasty, earlobe reduction, lip lift and CO2 laser resurfacing. Interestingly, all these procedures were done in one go, and it took Lisa 6 hours to complete the surgery, says Dr. Nayak.

“What Lisa looked like before had nothing to do with who Lisa was because she just looked contracted like everything had come, not just down, but forward into her face,” Dr. Nayak said.
“All her features looked smaller and she looked a little bottom-heavy and closed in the face. Part two was her skin had things you think of as aging changes, so wrinkles and brown spots and coarseness.”
“She has fantastic cheekbone and jawbone structure,” he says. “All I had to do was just reveal, not even augment or improve her cheekbone and jawbone structure, just reveal it so the lower face neck lift was just to show what’s there.”
